Polished (Smooth)
Again used extensively in northern Italy during the renaissance period, mostly used as a background for ornate frescos. The smooth polished plaster material is very similar to marmarino but with a much finer grade of marble, to give a smooth non- textured finish. This finish is a variable one, as you can achieve anything from a plain, lightly polished surface to a highly burnished and marbleised effect.
